Frances A Winks

Frances Annette Winks, longtime resident of Constantia, NY passed away peacefully at her home on September 21, 2022 at the age of 88. Born in Burke, NY on October 19, 1933 she was the youngest of 11 children born to Oliver and Olive Sorrell.
She owned and operated both the Maple Grove and Johnny’s Bayside restaurants with her husband John Winks, Sr. She was also employed as a cook at various local restaurants throughout her career.
Surviving are sons, Kenneth (Denise) Parrotte, West Monroe; Alan Parrotte, Mainesburg, PA; John (Tammi) Winks, Jr, Constantia; daughter Kathy (Alan) Campbell, Central Square; stepdaughters Joanne (James) Stock and Bonnie (Daniel) Dwyer; grandchildren Christopher, Amanda, Ryan, Timothy, Jeffrey and Kaitlyn Parrotte, Melissa and Brian Campbell, Jeannette Rockdashil, Tami Plyter, Scott Coles, Jaden
Winks, Adam Tiff, Alicia Manske, several great grandchildren, sister Bertha Badger, Utica, and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by husband John Winks, Sr, former husband James Parrotte, companion Stanton Lord, grandchildren James Stock, Jr and David Parrotte, brothers Niles, Allen, Anthony and Lloyd, sisters Dorothy, Albena, Geraldine, Phyllis and Theresa, parents, and lifetime partner in crime Pauline Griffin.
Known as Franny to her friends, and Aunt Fannie to her relatives, she had a passion for living life to the fullest. Always ready with her delicious pies and macaroni and cheese for any celebration, she will be sadly missed among her North Shore community.
With much gratitude we acknowledge the guidance from St Joseph’s Palliative Care Team and Hospice of CNY, the attentive and loving care given by son John and wife Tammi, with assistance from the Griffin and Badger families, and all who visited during her final days.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, September 27 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., with funeral service on
Wednesday, September 28 at 10:00 a.m. at WATSON FUNERAL HOME, INC., 631 S. Main St., Central Square followed by burial at Pleasant Lawn Cemetery, Parish, NY. Contributions may be made in her memory to Hospice of Central New York, 990 7th North Street, Liverpool, NY 13088.
