Wanda Van Arsdale passed away Friday, February 22, 2019 at the age of 89, in the company of her family.
Born to Archie and Melba (Rogers) Van Arsdale on June 20th, 1929, Wanda was the eldest of 5 children. After graduating high school, Wanda pursued her dream to become a Nurse, graduating from Crouse Irving School of Nursing in 1951. Wanda’s passion for nursing led her to continue her education, earning her BS and MS in Nursing from Syracuse University. After 30 years of teaching Nursing at Crouse Irving Memorial, Wanda retired in 1991.
Wanda’s strength and devotion knew no bounds. She tirelessly dedicated 9 years caring for her Aunt Vernie during her career, was active in her churches, and enjoyed many activities with friends and family. She also participated in the Senior Olympics and was a huge fan of Syracuse Orange Basketball.
Wanda is survived by her siblings, Clyde Van Arsdale, Gary Van Arsdale and Sharon (Van Arsdale) Gorman, predeceased by the recent passing of her brother Lee Van Arsdale.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 29th, at 10 am, at the Mexico Village Cemetery, Mexico, NY. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate her life and share their fondest memories of Wanda.
