Scott Carpenter Obituary

Scott A. Carpenter, 60, of Hastings passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 2, 2023.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, November 10, 2023 at Hillside Cemetery in Central Square.

Scott was born in Syracuse, on November 1, 1963 to Robert Carpenter and Arlene Platt. He was a skilled handyman and was self-employed, providing masonry and tiling services to locals. He had a tireless work ethic, and was always wearing his work boots.

Though he was loud and boisterous at times, at his core Scott was kind hearted, and he never had a bad word to say about anyone. In the rare times he wasn’t working, he enjoyed fishing and the companionship of his black lab; Max. Most of all, Scott loved his son; Justin. He was the best father he knew how to be, and his legacy will continue to live on in Justin.

Scott is survived by his mother; Arlene Platt, his son; Justin Carpenter, his significant other; Ann Reagan, his siblings; Robin (Carpenter) & Peter Buda, Teresa Carpenter, and Robert & Lori Carpenter, his stepfather; Ivan Stanton, stepsiblings; Leo Stanton, Les & Maggie Stanton and Paula & Gary Hayden, a special uncle; Walter & Diane Platt, and the mother of his son; Yvonne Hickey, as well as several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father; Robert Carpenter.

Arrangements are entrusted to Watson Funeral Home in Central Square, where memories and words of comfort can be shared at www.watsontraubfuneralhome.com.
