Evelyn F. (Cronk) Hoyt

Evelyn Frances Hoyt, 83 of Central Square, earned her angel wings on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer and heart disease. Evelyn was the daughter of Kenneth and Dorothy Cronk. She was the wife of her true love Robert Hoyt Sr. for 64 years. Evelyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a strong willed, vibrant woman who was dedicated to her family and friends.


Evelyn and Robert raised five children together, Roxane Taranto, Robert Hoyt Jr., Ronda Douglas, Randy(Lori) Hoyt, Ronald (Heather) Hoyt. She had 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Alicia Taranto Crandall (Natalee & Evyn) Angi Hoyt (Christa & Selene) Robert Hoyt III (Liam), Morgan Hoyt, Chad & Noah Douglas, Miranda & Nathan Hoyt, Austin, Mason & Savannah Hoyt.  She is also survived by her sister Mary (David) Gaffey, brothers James (Barbara) Cronk, Steven (Joanne) Cronk and her beloved friends Susan and Virgil Overton of Las Vegas and many special nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her son-in-law Mark Douglas and her grandson Parker Hoyt.


Evelyn was a member of the Mallory Wesleyan Church which she enjoyed attending with her family. Evelyn attended numerous sporting events and school activities for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Evelyn never wanted to miss anything her “kids” were involved in. She loved going to the casino and traveling with her family.


Due to the current circumstances burial will be private and a celebration of life will be at a later date.  Burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Mallory, NY.
