Emma Elizabeth "Liz" Shaw

Emma Elizabeth "Liz" Shaw, 94, of West Monroe, passed peacefully at The Cottages at Garden Grove in Cicero, on Monday, August 30, 2021.

Born in Syracuse on July 29, 1927, Liz retired from the Town of West Monroe as Town Clerk. She served as a member of the Eastern Star, West Monroe Ladies Fire Auxiliary, Den Mother for West Monroe Cub Scouts, Northshore 49'ers Square Dance Club, and member of West Monroe United Methodist Church. She enjoyed music, dancing, traveling with her husband, and spending time with her family. Liz was a loving caregiver to several family members.

Liz is predeceased by her husband Arnold "Arnie" Shaw; Mother Jane Bova; brothers Donald "Bruce" Fox, Thomas R. Fox, and Robert "Bobby" Fox; and grandson Randall Shaw, Jr. She is survived by her sons Doug (Jackie), Randy (Chris), Gary, and Roger (Diane) Shaw; 15 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; and many extended family.

Calling Hours will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 7, 10 am to 1:30 pm, at Watson Funeral Home in Central Square, followed by a Funeral Service at 1:30. Burial will be in West Monroe Cemetery immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to West Monroe Fire Department, United Methodist Church of West Monroe, or Multiple Sclerosis Resources of Central New York.
