Henry G. Wolf V passed away peacefully on September 4,2018 at the age of 81 in Sun City Center, Florida; where he resided since 2004. Prior to his retirement he was a resident of Central Square, NY for 35 years. He was originally from Buffalo, NY. and was a graduate of Manlius Military Academy in Manlius, NY.
His professional career was comprised of owning Hank Wolf News & Tobacco in Buffalo and many years in the appliance parts business. Prior to and immediately following his retirement Henry devoted his time and energy to St. Michael’s Church in Central Square, NY. There he served as lector, eucharistic minister and director of altar servers. He also enjoyed acting and performed in community theater both in Central Square and Sun City Center.
Henry is pre-deceased by his wonderful parents, Henry and Helen Wolf; his beloved in-laws Spencer and Jane Cartwright; his loving sister-in-law Sharon (Cartwright) Pellenz; brother-in-law Norbert Szymanski; and two granddaughters, Hannah and Rose.
When it came to family and friends Henry lived a life of abundance and joy. He had the honor of being married to his best friend Judith A. (Cartwright) Wolf for 60 years, having just celebrated their anniversary this past April. He is survived by two sisters, Marcia (Wolf) Szymanski and Eileen Wolf. He is also survived by his eight children: Kathryn M. Quinn (Tim); Henry G. Wolf VI (Sheryl); David M. Wolf (Linda); Michael E. Wolf (Margaret); John C. Wolf; Patrick H. Wolf (Robin); Elaine M. Wolf (Jeff McIntyre); and Timothy E. Wolf. Henry’s greatest joy may well have been being “Grandpa” to 19 grand-children: Benjamin, Rachel, Maire, Henry, Spencer, Samantha, Jackson, Leah, Eric, Sarah, Megan, Matthew, Monica, Nathan, Jacob, Emily, Marcus, Isaiah, Nadia and great-grandfather to 2: Mason and Nolan Myers.
Henry’s life will be celebrated with calling hours from 4-7pm on Friday September 21, 2018 at Watson Funeral Home 631 S. Main St. Central Square, NY 13036. On Saturday September 22,2018 a memorial mass will take place at 10am at Divine Mercy in Central Square, NY. There will be a brief gathering at the cemetery at Hillside Memorial Cemetery after mass.
