Mellie L. Bergren

Mellie L. Bergren (Nicotra), 86, of Brewerton, passed peacefully on Sunday, with family by her side.

Born to Anthony and Josephine Nicotra, Mellie retired from Norstar Bank, in Brewerton, after 26 years of service.  A member of Divine Mercy Parish in Central Square, Mellie was a devout catholic whose love for music allowed her to serve as church organist for over 50 years. She enjoyed spending time with family and loved her nieces and nephews as her own children.

Mellie is predeceased by parents; husband Ivar Bergren;  sister Josephine Towsley; and nephews Sal Nicotra and Bill Towsley.  She is survived by sister Nellie Robinson; brothers Sam (Rosemarie) and John (Joan) Nicotra; nieces and nephews Linda Lewis, Sandra O'Connor, David Robinson, Anthony, Joanne, Julie, and John Nicotra; and several great and great great nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, 10:30 am, at Divine Mercy Parish in Central Square.  Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday, 4 to 7 pm, at Watson Funeral Home, 631 S. Main St., Central Square.  Burial will follow the Mass in Hillside Cemetery, Central Square.  Contributions may be made to Divine Mercy Parish, 592 S.
